Fox and Olive Take Manchester

I love Manchester. Even on a rainy, blustery day like yesterday it is so easy to find comfort in the city's centre. It is a hive of the creative, the unique and the industrial. The buildings, dating from all ages, stand masterfully tall enveloping the bumpy streets which run through them like a nervous system. The thing I love about about Manchester is how both the old and the new buildings fit so well together. It's the combination of styles within the city's architecture that give you an insight into what it might have looked like in the past.

Well my good friend Fox (Now a Parkinson as she recently got married...yay) and I went deep into the heart of the city yesterday to spend some good quality time together. We started the day with Caramel Macchiatos from Starbucks, no other way to start really, and drove the indirect route to Manchester. The rain was hammering down with only a few lulls of drizzle throughout the day. First stop...Flesh Tattoo. I had been booked in for a while to get a dedication tattoo for my Grandad. A stem of bluebells, his favourite flower. Fox was very supportive and sat by my side until the deed was done. We chatted about all our adventures that we have had over the years and reminisced about the days when we worked together. The experience was over in no time with a minimal amount of pain. We then went for Sushi for lunch and also to escape the rain. I had a watery cup of Miso Soup and Tuna set Sushi. Yum!
After lunch we mooched to some of our favourite shops. Next to try on clothes that wouldn't fit, Homesense to raid the candle selection, Whittards to taste the hot chocolate and smell the teas, & Other Stories to touch everything in awe, Oliver Bonas to purchase proudly and Paperchase to stock up on stationary. Today's haul was magnificent and Fox and I agreed that is is definitely about quality not quantity! (See below)

All in all a very successful shop and a wonderful opportunity to spend some much needed time with Fox. My sister and soulmate.

Love,
Blue Sky
