Getting Older Over Coffee

So as part of my 25th birthday celebrations Alex has planned a treat day out in Clitheroe. We arrived and walked up to the castle for lunch. I had chicken Caesar salad and Alex had a roast dinner. There is nothing worse than trekking up to admire a historical monument than doing it on a full belly and with rain. We got to the top and spent 5 minutes admiring the fact that the castle was actually 4 old walls with 2 old doorways and it was about as high as an average house. On our descent we went to the maze which was really just a loopy path of gravel on grass. The best part of the day so far is where we currently are. Sat in a huge leather sofa, surrounded by candles and low lights, listening to the rain pattering on the street outside and a playlist of folk music. Escape, Coffee and Cocktails has got to be my favourite place in Clitheroe. I have just put away a delicious mug of Mocha and Alex a gigantic hot chocolate. To many people, sitting in a coffee shop doesn't sound like much of a celebration but for me it is the ideal way to spend a Sunday afternoon. It is so peaceful and getting to spend it with the guy I love is perfect. I think cake might be on the menu too. So we will sit here for another hour or so and then travel back home. I have been ordered to have a nap and then we are going to our favourite restaurant in Preston for our tea. A little Greek place in Winkley Square which is where we had so many date nights in the early days and will continue to. Then this little bubble of calm will pop when it is back to the grind on Monday. My birthday is on Tuesday and although I am at work, I am going out for tea to the Spread Eagle at Mellor with Alex and my parents which sounds ideal. I bought a new dress for the occasion aswell! Fancy!
The prospect of getting older doesn't bother me the same as it would alot of people. I look forward to each year as I know being with Alex will bring more happiness, more adventures and more milestones year on year. We have so much to look forward to and so many dreams and ambitions to see through.
So while I ponder on all the brilliance the future has in store I think it may be time to order a liqueur coffee? Perhaps a Affogato - Naughty. Espresso, a scoop of ice cream and a shot of liquor or a classic Hot Toddy.

P.s. Alex went on a Pokémon raid which gave me chance to write this. Makes him happy :)
